Geert Chatrou won the worldchampionships in whistling three times. Since 2004 he saw a lot of stages, all around the world. From Tokyo to Boston, from Helsinki to Berlin. With Chamber- and symphonic orchestra's but also accompanied by jazz combo's and string quartets. Geert soloed and recorded with for example the Metropole Orchestra and the WDR Rundfunken orchestra from Cologne. He also appeared as a guest with a lot of orchestra's, such as the Brabants Orkest, the Anhaltische Philharmony Dessau and the Sinfonie orkester Kiel. Further he was a guest twice at the Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin for the Open Air Classic there. He colaboraed with Klaus Badelt for the music for the film 'Le Petit Nicolas' and whistled twice for former Queen Beatrix and King Willem Alexander.
Geert tries to move and surprise his audience at all his venues. Except for his talent to whistle beautiful and virtuosos, geert has a solid musical background and a fine feeling for tone and rhythm.
A prizewinning documentary about the International Whistling Convention in 2004 was made by Kate Davis and David Heilbroner, both Emmy-Award winners. This documentary, called Pucker Up, the fine art of whistling, has been screened in over 40 countries.
A journalist wrote as a headline in the newspaper, reviewing one of Geert’s concerts:
'Chatrou got a standing ovation, after he blew away the audience…'
